i'm bored.

i started work today and i'm very excited to work more! i really like my manager, i really like the very nice people and i love the environment and i'm just so excited!
my seventeenth birthday is on friday! i'm gonna do something small with a couple of my friends. it'll be nice. and bryson is out of town and i miss him..and he wont be in town on my birthday..so sad..but he'll be back on jessi's birthday! and we're going on a date next week so it's all good.
i am SO EXCITED for heroes in september!!!! i'm FREAKING OUT!!!!!! best. show. EVER.
so i am currently reading a book by sarah vowell called take the cannoli. its so witty and clever! i encourage everyone to read it when they get the chance for some good personal essays.
so my theater teacher has facebook and i've been asking her about the projects we will be doing at the beginning of the school year. in our theater 3 class we go down to the shakespearefestival in cedar city and we compete with other high schools. i've gone down for the past couple of years and every year we have won first place ensemble scene. and also our teacher chooses two scenes and three monologues to go down and last year i went down with bryson and we did a scene from richard III, i played queen elizabeth and he played richard. this year our ensemble scene will be richard III and i will be doing another scene from richard III. i dont know yet what part i am, but i'm very excited to be doing the scene with two very talented girls. and i guess i was meant to be in richard III.. if i play queen elizabeth again i will just laugh.. i'll be sure to post it once i find out.
also next year we will be doing grease for our fall musical. i was cast as an extra pink lady. which means i still get to have the opportunity to be apart of the pink ladies, but i get to develop my own character. i'm so excited!

so i have seen the dark knight twice now, and heath ledger is my favorite actor. he is the most talented actor! i deeply respect him. and today i was flipping through the tv and i turned it to brothers grimm, not that i particularly like the movie..just heath ledger was in it. to see heath as the twisted joker then see him as a kindhearted story writer i was just captivated by him. he becomes his character! he changes his mannerisms and his speech and he no longer is heath, he becomes the joker or jake grimm. and as an actress, i will always respect and admire heath ledger's talent. he is a true actor. rest in peace.

3 is a magic number

so i've finally got a summer job!..now that the summer's half over..
i now work at noodles & company on fort union! woo!! so how i got this job is a very funny story..
so today i was just going around getting applications hoping that i might be able to get a job for the rest of summer and for the school year. and i had only gotten two applications and i went to get my third at noodles. i walked in and asked for an application and they said to go online and i was about to walk out when the manager said well what're you doing later today at 330? we could interview you if youre free. of course i said yes! and when i got there we had the interview and it was just a regular interview, and when i was done they said well we've got a position for you, orientation's next week. . . so yeah! it was awesome!

i'm insane.

so i was thinking about why i let all the drama in footloose get to me and i figured it out! i havent had a break from theater in over a year.. last year in march i was in the ensemble for bye bye birdie, then after that i was director's assistant/stage manager for importance of being earnest, then i was in brigadoon, then school started and i did anything goes, shakespeare, check please, and the musical review, then i was stage manager for bye bye birdie, and i was about to do footloose.... no wonder i'm exhausted!! how crazy is that?? my dad's had a break since i've last had one..thats a definite sign that its time to take a break! so i'm officially as insane as my dad..

cut footloose..

for the past couple of weeks i have been rehearsing for footloose at the egyptian theater in park city. i came into in expecting it to be a great experience and a taste of professional theater. but today is my last rehearsal. i was very surprised by how unorganized everything is and how in exception of a few people, everyone was rude to each other. i dont know if it was just everyone in the cast are divas or just personalities clashed, but i just wasnt having fun. especially since i went into this with the intention of having a fun positive experience, i dont want to deal with drama. especially three weeks in! so i've dropped footloose. i know you were all expecting to go see me in it but i've got so many other important things to do this summer than a play. but if you know austin smith or any of the brighton kids in it i encourage you to see it! it'll still be a cute show. not the best, but cute. :)
